I’m a huge Star Wars fan. Palpatine is iconic-but I think the reason he’s not seen as the greatest villain is because he got really lucky. One example of this is that he tried to kill Padme multiple times. Without her, Anakin would not have turned to the dark side and the Empire wouldn’t have happened. If I have to rely on: “Well, he could see the future and knew Padme wouldn’t have been harmed” then that’s not greatest villain worthy.

Until the Disney took over....

Just watched the Sequel trilogy. I abhored watching it they massacred the franchise also with this new sh1ty acolyte show. Their not canon. It ends with episode 6 and the Mandalorian Episode 8 is the most recent episode of canon star wars.

I personally liked The Force Awakens, but then hated 8 and 9. Episodes 3-6 are the ones I really love.

As someone who was in the picture house in 1977 when it was just Star Wars and has been there for every sequel and prequel and enjoyed them and their outcome, when I saw The Force Awakens, I wanted the villains to win.

People are so used to being fed stuffy sarcasm and cheap humor/one-liners from stuff like marvel movies that they forgot what it sounds like when actors use a tone of voice with any complexity or depth. The actors had such impeccable delivery that the lines seem clunky. Like you’re watching a comic book come to life.

The dialogue is cheesy and unrealistic, but how many things have you said behind closed doors (when trying to be romantic, when trying to make jokes, when doing anything privately) that were super cheesy and seemed like you were almost pretending? We are getting a glimpse into intimate moments between characters where they say things they wouldn’t normally say in public. That’s why it’s uncomfortable and seems unrealistic. We aren’t meant to see that side of people in real life, but we do when the story is being told to us.

Your videos put words to feelings I’ve had since I was a child first seeing these films. You’re pointing out what we all know deep down but can’t quite explain. You’re validating years of adoration for the franchise. The dark side of that is that you’re also exposing the new trilogy for the dumpster fire they are - another feeling we all have but can’t find the words to explain. Every argument in favor of George Lucas’ genius is simultaneously an argument against Jabrams and The Mouse Company (misspelling purposeful for disrespectful effect).

My problems with the new trilogy: Hollywood has always tried to reset heroes in unplanned sequels. So he rides off into the sunset in the original movie, in the sequel he's back to being the loser he was in the beginning as they're just going to repeat story. In Disney (all of the movies) the hero is a white male being trashed, to make way for his female or minority successor. He may rise above being a failure but dies in the end. So all he did was a waste. Nothing was explained--I know Rian Johnson's supposed stroke of genius was subverting everything but we felt like Poe talking to Admiral Holdo (not wearing a uniform but purple hair and a nightgown) wanting to know what was happening. Who was Snoke? Where did the First Order come from? Finn. I thought he would originally be the main character of the story with Rey as the new Leia. Liberals made a bigger deal about him being black than the rest of us, but honestly his character ended up so trivial he could have been written out. No real story arc--they're against the First Order, then against the First Order and the military industrial complex and then the New Order and Palpatine's corpse. The prequels did have a continuous if messed up storyline. The new sequels.....it was obvious each movie was going in a different direction and almost nothing was working out as what people like in the original series. The appeal to Star Wars was adventure and escapist fantasy, not Leftist Propaganda tying in loose elements. To do this with three movies for a multi-billion dollar franchise is insane. And lastly hating on fans and scrapbook storytelling, throwing in whatever they think will work then wondering why fans aren't adulating over it if anything attacking us and blaming us for the many failures. Hey, we didn't tell you to put this stuff on screen. I mean good grief riding horses on the deck of a stare destroyer and they can't tell which way is up when the ground is below.

I agree that the newest star Wars really suck, and your premise that they are "antidotes" is genius.. however, the idea that the Prequels were bad because of the political intrigue and long, complex, and boring storytelling etc. is completely off. I remember when they came out, and the prequels sucked because the stories were bad: The Pod race and the jedi fights burn well over half of the first movie. The child acting is flamboyant and horrible. Everything they introduced in the prequels were annoying or way too polished ( Jar Jar, all the new jedi etc.) and Hayden Christianson's acting is self explanatory. The second and third movies were mellow dramatic and lacked any grit whatsoever. It just feels like a Boomer's new house whereas the originals felt more like an actual struggle in this strange and different place. The newest ones suck for completely different reasons. Instead of actually telling a straightforward story based on the hero's journey, they reduce everything to social justice and trite feminist/counter culture ideas that lack any real substance; and yes, they try to erase the other movies, including, in my opinion, the originals. why is Rae able to do everything immediately? Even luke was an anxious mess constantly put in his place by Han. How did Han Solo's son get to be so badass and what did he sacrifice to do it? and Why???? Why is Finn black, and does that mean every storm trooper looks like him? And why is Finn so anxious?... I've spent enought time on this.. Star wars absolutely sucks and always has.

I just realized something that disturbed me a lot. This channel is called "So uncivilized". This entire channel has been created on the basis of Star Wars! And today, I look at the newest Disney Star Wars, in any media : Trilogy, series, stand-alone films; and I can't help to wonder : Will anyone, anyone among the younger modern audience, that are our age when we discovered Star Wars ourselves; will any of them find Star Wars captivating enough to build a persona channel based on the newer Star Wars? And If they don't, won't the franchise be at risk to fall into oblivion? Can something like Star Wars really fall into Oblivion?

I honestly wish Rian Johnson would have made the entire trilogy (maybe with a few safeguards around him to help him keep his unwarranted humor in check. No story is worth little enough to be sacrificed for a quick laugh, especially during a trilogy...). Rian Johnson at least got some interesting ideas and concepts : Kylo learning from both Sith and Jedi in order to destroy them both and try to end the eternal duality between the two, endlessly birthing new conflicts. The Force being capable of touching people who don't come from families of already force-sensitive people. Assuring the fact that there will always be force sensitive people (no matter what kind of training they receive). But ultimately, he did not understood what star wars is. He had a great story to tell, but he broke too much of Star Wars, trying to jam his story in it. The space battles are atrocious. Jake Skywalker is a blaspheme. And not one character is... Well... Character driven.

I think, funny enough, the uncanniness of Tarkin makes him a more unsettling villain. Thought I don’t believe for a moment that it was intentional. I still love this movie though. I hate Borgullet and the casting of Forrest Whitaker (Not that I don’t like him but I can’t treat the animated and live-action versions of his character as the same characters). But I _can_ accept the thermal exhaust port as both a deliberate weakness and an unintentional design flaw. Aside from that, I think it’s a 9/10 movie and Andor takes it even further.

I watched these movies in order from ep 1 to 9 and i gotta say the prequels were not bad at all, before watching star wars i had read that prequels were not good and you can just "avoid" it but i liked them 🤷🏻‍♂️ especially rots

Ok, so I was a teenager when the prequels came out. And I have to admit I loved them. I had the old trilogy on VHS and every night before bed I watched the whole trilogy. I musta watched them like 100 times. Anyway, the prequels make sense! You have to remember, it was the apex of the Jedi Order, the Republic was on a sort of Golden Age. It makes sense that the vehicles and everything was newer and better looking as when Order 66 was given and the Empire emerged that was like the Dark Ages of Europe. The technology and everything was lost, anything Jedi destroyed. The Dark Times began. Now of course there was such a huge amount of EU post-RotJ. I mean Dark Empire, Shadows of the Empire such great stuff. Why Disney would decide to completely throw out all that canon is beyond me. They could have made 100 movies out of all that. The New Republic Era, the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, and Cade Skywalker 100 years later. No, were gonna hire JJ Abrahams and make a few shit movies. SW fan: Ok, Thanks a lot... Can you think about using the canon? Disney: No of course not get that crap outta here I don't ever wanna see it again! SW fan: But it's really good writing and everything is already th- Disney: No I hate it I don't ever want to see it again! Go! SW fan: You sure?
